September Recital and Choral Evensong

Join us as we offer our first event in a new initiative called “Commonwealth, Common Prayer,” in which the St. Francis Parish Choir partners with sister churches in our diocese to offer Choral Evensong.

The 4:30 p.m. organ recital is played by Mengfei Xu, Assistant Director of Worship and Music at Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville, KY. Her program features music of Escaich, S. S. Wesley, J. S. Bach, Karosi, and Farrington.

Immediately following the program, the combined choirs of St. Francis and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church offer Choral Evensong. All are encouraged to stay for a simple meal in Graves Hall, where a member of the clergy staff will offer a lecture on the Gospel of St. Matthew. Childcare provided.
