Organ Scholars Program

Beginning in 2024, St. Francis in the Fields is proud to host our own Organ Scholars Program in partnership with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. This program follows the Oxbridge Chapel model and is a unique opportunity for students seeking practical experience in a parish promoting traditional Anglican liturgy and music.

• Two student organ scholars, a “Junior” and a “Senior,” are appointed by the Director of Music in consultation with Dr. Jeffrey Smith, Professor of Organ and Church Music at IU, and Dr. Michael Unger, Associate Professor of Organ at The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
• These scholars assist the Director of Music in services by accompanying hymns, psalms, and anthems.
• They each have additional opportunities in music department administration, including managing our extensive choir library.
