Children's Chapel is a church service within a church service. Designed exclusively for our young attendees, the Children's Chapel prepares them for “adult” worship by providing a liturgical service that engages them in the lesson and provides opportunities for them to be a part of the worship experience. Each week, there are chances to serve as greeters, ushers, readers and to assist with the Gospel lesson.

Children’s Chapel is offered every Sunday morning during the worship services at 9:00 (in the Davenport Chapel) and 11:15 (downstairs in the Commons Room). During the summer, Children's Chapel takes place during the 10:00 am service. Any child ages 3 and up is invited to participate. Parents are also invited to accompany their child if they like. Although the service is aimed toward children ages 3 to 8, older children are invited to not only attend, but take an active role in the chapel experience.

In addition to our Gospel lesson, in which we tell our little ones about the love of Jesus, one Sunday a month will have an additional lesson to help prepare our youngest members for “adult” worship. For example, during Lent, we will learn about the season of Lent. We will also continue practicing how to kneel at the altar and how to cross our arms if we are not taking communion.

If your child is in third, fourth or fifth grade and would like to be an Acolyte in Children’s Chapel, please contact Jennifer Grady at the email/phone below. Jr. Acolytes help with chapel set-up, attendance management and collecting the offering.

For babies, toddlers and younger children who are not yet ready to sit through the service, Nursery Ministry is available downstairs in the Sunday School rooms. Our nurseries are staffed by volunteer and staff teachers.

If you have any questions please contact Jennifer Grady in the church office or by phone 502-228-1176.
