The youth of St. Francis serve our larger community through outreach projects and activities. They have helped others by taking mission trips to Mexico, North Carolina and South Dakota to repair damaged homes and distribute food. For the last twenty years we have sent team of youth and adults to the Dominican Republic where they have worked in the communities of Baharona, San Cristobal, San Rafael and Samangola leading a VBS (Vacation Bible School) and completing work projects. They helped initially to build churches in these villages and continued to work and grow with them as the Body of Christ flourishes requiring expansions and upkeep. Since 1998 a team has been traveling to the town of David, an Eastern Kentucky coal mining town hosting VBS in the morning and working on community work projects in the afternoon. Each summer our youth go back to both David, KY and to the Dominican Republic to build relationships through Vacation Bible School and work projects in both communities.
