Welcome to the Rev. Malone Gilliam, Guest Preaching and Teaching

March 10

We are extending a warm welcome to the Rev. Malone Gilliam, Rector of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Nashville, who will be participating in a “pulpit swap” with our own Fr. Clint the morning of Sunday, March 10! Fr. Gilliam will be guest preaching and teaching that morning, while Fr. Clint does the same at St. George’s.

Fr. Gilliam was born and raised in Fort Davis, a rural cattle ranching community in Southwest Texas. He attended undergraduate school at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and later earned his Master of Divinity from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA.  Influential mentors from “near and afar” in his life include the Torrence brothers, Thomas and James; Malcolm Smith; and Brennan Manning. Prior to accepting the call to St. George’s, he served as Rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Edenton, NC; Senior Associate Rector at St. George’s; and as Associate Rector at Church of the Holy Cross on Sullivan’s Island, SC. He is married to Mary Gilliam and they have four daughters: Grace, Anne, Elizabeth, and June.
