We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Rev. Canon Victor Lee Austin, Theologian-in-Residence for the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, who will be guest preaching on August 4 at our 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. worship services! A Christian ethicist by training, Dr. Austin’s theological interests are broad and particularly hone in on how theology makes a difference in everyday life. He is the author of several books, including Losing Susan and Friendship: The Heart of Being Human. He also posts regularly on his blog on the diocesan website, “Diary of a Theologian,” which can be found here.
Make sure to join us between morning services at 9:00 a.m. in Graves Hall, where Dr. Austin will be presenting a fascinating talk entitled “Praising God for Creation: Reflections on Walking the Camino de Santiago.” This talk will highlight his sacred pilgrimage on the 489-mile trek in Spain known as the Camino de Santiago, a long spiritual journey punctuated by churches, chapels, shrines, streams, hills, mountains, rivers, and valleys. Please note: childcare WILL be provided for the 9 a.m. presentation.
