If you would like to seek out confirmation\, we ask that you commit to a process of instruction and formation that includes a year-long confirmation class held during the Sunday school hour each week.

They will get to know God’s great story for all of creation and how they are a part of it! The Bible can be intimidating and overwhelming. By opening our Bibles each week and looking at each book from a 30\,000ft view\, we hope that the Bible will be less of “that really big book\,” and more of “my constant companion” and “the big story that is my story.” Join us in the Vicarage on Sunday mornings from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m.

SUMMARY:Love in a Time of Crisis: Suggestions from the Medieval Church
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, April 26\, for a talk featuring guest speaker Dr. Lauren Whitnah\, Dean of Nashotah House Theological Seminary. \nWhat does it look like to love God? What does it look like\, in practical terms\, to love my neighbor? Throughout church history\, believers have wrestled with these issues; during a period of radical change and crises in the twelfth century\, Christians found these questions particularly compelling. We’ll explore the way several medieval Christian thinkers understood love of God and love of neighbor\, and we’ll discuss some suggestions for how we might incorporate their ideas into our own context. \n“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart\, and with all thy soul\, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

DESCRIPTION:Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ\, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a Bishop. At St. Francis in the Fields\, preparation for confirmation is open to all who are baptized and will at least in the 8th grade in the 2025-26 school year. If you would like to seek out confirmation\, we ask that you commit to a process of instruction and formation that includes a year-long confirmation class held during the Sunday school hour each week.

SUMMARY:The Big Story
DESCRIPTION:This year in Sunday School\, our Middle Schoolers will walk through the whole Bible from start to finish. They will get to know God’s great story for all of creation and how they are a part of it! The Bible can be intimidating and overwhelming. By opening our Bibles each week and looking at each book from a 30\,000ft view\, we hope that the Bible will be less of “that really big book\,” and more of “my constant companion” and “the big story that is my story.” Join us in the Vicarage on Sunday mornings from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m.
