SUMMARY:Total Forgiveness
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, join us for an in-depth study entitled “Total Forgiveness\,” held in Graves Hall before our 10:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday mornings. Our leader\, the Rev. Dr. Thomas P. Sweets\, has served as a Pastor/Head of Staff in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for 42 years and he teaches regularly on Sunday mornings at Second Presbyterian Church. The textbook is Total Forgiveness: When Everything in You wants to Hold a Grudge\, Point a Finger\, and Remember the Pain—God Wants You to Lay it All Aside\, by R.T. Kendall. Rev. Sweets says\, “This study has been one of the most transformative books I have read in years. It has certainly led to a greater depth of discipleship and spiritual maturity.” Some copies of the book will be available in the vestibule for $10.00 each or you can order the book online. \nReading in preparation for the class will enhance the material\, but this is not required. There are three scripture passages you can meditate on as you prepare for Class: \nEphesians 4:30-32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another\, forgiving each other\, just as in Christ God forgave you.” \nColossians 3:13\, “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” \n1 Samuel 25:1-44\, The story of David\, Nabal\, and Abigail. A powerful story of humility\, pride and forgiveness. \nUnderstanding forgiveness is a vital s element of a mature Christian faith. To live in total forgiveness can change the direction of your life\, set you free from the past\, and save many relationships. \nCurrent Class Schedule \nJune 7: “An Introduction to Total Forgiveness” (Ephesians 4:30-32) \nJune 14: Chapter 1: “What is Total Forgiveness” (Luke 23:34\, 1 Samuel 25) \nJune 21: Chapter 2: “How to Know We Have Totally Forgiven” (Joseph\, Genesis 37-50) \nJune 28: Chapter 3: “The Lord’s Prayer and Forgiveness” Matthew 6:9-15 \nJuly 5: No Class (Independence Day Weekend) \nJuly 12: Chapters 4 & 5: “Playing God” (Matthew 7:1 and “When we are right to judge\,” 1 John 1:8) \nJuly 19: Chapter 6: “The Art of Forgiving and Forgetting” (1 Corinthians 13) \nJuly 26: “How to Forgive—Totally” (Matthew 5:44)

SUMMARY:Thanksgiving for the Holy Eucharist
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Christians around the world celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi\, or the day of Thanksgiving for the Holy Eucharist. This feast grew out of 40 years of work by Juliana of Liège\, a twelfth-century nun who longed for a day to celebrate the joy of the Lord’s Supper outside of Holy Week observances. This year we will recognize this feast with a special celebration of Holy Communion\, followed by a festive coffee hour. We will also recognize the children who have completed our children’s communion formation program. \nJoin us at 10:00 a.m. on June 7 to rejoice in the grace Christ gives us in his Body and Blood.

SUMMARY:Sacred Page Book Club
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, join Mthr. Barbara for a casual book study of the Christian classic For the Life of the World. In this luminous and surprisingly readable book\, Orthodox theologian Alexander Schmemann argues that Christian worship isn’t an escape from the world\, it’s the key to understanding it. Drawing on the rhythms of sacramental life\, he shows how liturgy restores our capacity to see the world as it truly is: as gift\, as communion\, as something meant to be offered back to God. We’ll meet weekly beginning June 21 to discuss this book\, the power of worship\, and the meaning of all reality. Register on Realm today by clicking here.

SUMMARY:2026 Habitat Episcopal Kick-Off and Build
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, you are invited to take place in our first Habitat for Humanity home build in many years! The “Raise the Roof” kick-off event will be June 24 through 26 at the work site (see the Realm event for details) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are warmly welcomed and encouraged to continue building and assisting with construction tasks for up to 16 weekends thereafter. \nHabitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville are on a mission to combat housing insecurity in our area. One third of all Louisville families experience economic and personal instability because of a lack of permanent quality housing. By partnering with Habitat and constructing this home together from the ground up\, we will help a family achieve the strength\, peace\, and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves\, and fulfill our Commandment to love our neighbors in a tangible way. \nTo register your interest\, sign up on Realm today by clicking here. Please contact Scott Calvert or Steve Gardner with any questions you have about this amazing opportunity!
