Adult Forum: Take A Stroll For Your Soul: Walking the Camino de Santiago

Join us in Graves Hall at 10:15 am to hear Nancy Mead, president of the board of the Friends of Anglican Pilgrimage Center in Santiago share her experience walking the Camino de Santiago and the vision for our Anglican Pilgrim Centre in Santiago de Compostela.

About Nancy: Nancy Mead lives in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Married to an Episcopal Priest for 50 years, she is the mother of two children, Emma Melo, and her brother Matthew, who is also an Episcopal priest. Nancy is the doting grandmother of Raphael and Olivia Melo and Liam and Nicholas Mead. She is a keen gardener and sailor.

After two careers, first in the fashion Industry and then as a florist, Nancy took up trekking at age 50 when she walked the Camino Francés from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago.  She has since walked the Chemin d’Arles, the Via de la Plata, the Camino del Norte and the Camino Portugués as well as other long-distance paths throughout Europe, over 6500 miles so far.

Nancy has been a co-leader of three Camino bus pilgrimages and two shorter 100km walks.

In 2019, she was made a Lay Canon of the Spanish Episcopal Church. Sine 2018, Nancy has been the President of the Friends of the Anglican Pilgrim Centre in Santiago de Compostela, an organization committed to establishing an Ecumenical Pilgrim Centre in Santiago.
