tuesday bible study
Tuesday Bible Study ... Beginning September 11, 9:30-11:30 a.m. with The Rev. Bob Coon.
We will be studying:
The Life of King David: A Man after God’s Own Heart
Highlights from I & II Samuel
One of the greatest characters in the Old Testament is David, the son of Jesse. He began his life as a shepherd when he was in his teens. Then David was chosen by God to be the king of Israel. David's remarkable life, insights, and achievements inspire us today. His story is compelling, exciting—with "chance" encounters, narrow escapes, beautiful women, and a warrior who carves out an empire. David is a singer-songwriter, whose body of work is revered by millions of people 3,000 years after his death. His character encourages us, his weaknesses speak to us, his faith moves us. He is the king of Israel's Golden Age and points us to his great descendant, the Son of David, Jesus Christ the Lord.
Beginning September 11th Bob Coon will lead a 13-week study of David's life from the Old Testament books of 1&2 Samuel. We will look with a special emphasis on what we can learn as Jesus' disciples today. How can we be people with a heart for God like David? He was a man who brought the twelve of Israel together as a nation for the first time. He also made some terrible mistakes. Come join this study to see how we can learn from the good and the bad of David. Your understanding of his life and faith will help you to live out God’s plan for you.
