Each service takes lay participation, each with a variety of levels of time commitments.

Musical Arts

The Music Ministry encourages all to develop their God-given gifts to express themselves musically for the Glory of God.  There are a wide variety of opportunities for all ages, skill levels, and time commitment levels.  Please visit Music Ministry for details and sound clips.

Liturgical Arts

Altar Guild: The altar guild prepares the altar for Sunday morning services, as well as special services such as Christmas, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, baptisms, weddings, and funerals. Contact Barbara Tracy by phone at 502-228-1811.

Chalice Bearers: Volunteering to Serve as a Chalice Bearer requires thoughtful prayer and consideration. Chalice Bearers are specifically trained and licensed to assist the priests in celebrating the Holy Eucharist by serving the wine. For more information, email Emily Fraiser or call her in the parish office at 502-228-1176.

Lectors and Litanists:  We are looking for a team of strong readers (those with oratorical gifts).  Lectors and Litanists receive some amount of training including microphone technique and coaching on diction, pacing, and tone.  For more information, email Emily Fraiser or call her in the parish office at 502-228-1176.

Hospitality:  Welcoming is a priority at St. Francis in the Fields as we strive to extend a warm personal greeting to all.  If you have a gift for welcoming others, or enjoy having guests in your own home, for example, consider volunteering your time and talent as a Greeter or Usher on Sunday mornings.  For more information, email Emily Fraiser or call her in the parish office at 502-228-1176.

Recording:  Every Sunday the sermon and the adult education hour are recorded. These recordings are then posted online for those who are shut-in or otherwise can't make it to church. If you have any questions or trouble listening, please email Emily Fraiser or call her in the parish office at 502-228-1176.

Vestment Care: Volunteers regularly launder and mend the vestments for the priests, Chalice Bearers and Acolytes.  Contact Cindi Calvert, 502-645-5549.
