Periodically, St. Francis in the Fields conducts an Alpha course. The last course took place in the Fall of 2016. Watch this space, and other outlets for parish announcements, for future offerings of the Alpha course.
Alpha is a tool used by local churches to reach people with the unchanging message of Jesus Christ in a non-threatening way. It is a profound experience of learning what it means to be a believer for each person involved. The Course is a personal adventure taken in a small group atmosphere. Alpha is a ten week evangelistic course that seeks to introduce the heart of the Christian faith through a series of talks and small group discussions. It is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.
If you are new to St. Francis in the Fields, Alpha is a great way to meet and really get to know new friends.
If you have been around for a while and have questions about Christianity or some of the teachings of the faith, Alpha is just the place to ask those questions and to reflect on them with others in an easy and comfortable setting.
If you have friends, neighbors, or co-workers who are asking you questions about your faith, you’ll want to invite them to Alpha.
There’s a great meal, combined with warm fellowship, relevant teaching, and small group discussion.
Children and youth love Alpha too. They enjoy a wonderful Christ-centered age appropriate program.
