Youth Senate

                                                      2005-2006

Youth are vital to the life of our parish and St. Francis has an outstanding, strong youth ministry. Our youth take on responsibilities for planning and implementing their own programs and are supported by adults mindful of the spiritual and unique qualities of each young person. The Youth Senate includes a representative from each grade, two chairpersons and our two youth ministers.

By accepting the position on the Youth Senate you are saying "YES" to participate actively in the youth group at St. Francis in the Fields.  As a Youth Senate member, you will give a significant amount of time and talents.  With your time and talents you will assist in making key decisions for the youth group.  You will also be saying "YES" to actively participating in the youth program.  Our Youth Senate team recognizes our commitment to the Youth Program and vows to work hard at the goals that are determined by the Youth Senate.

                                       Youth Mission Statement

The Youth of St. Francis in the Fields is a growing Episcopal Community of Faith called to nurture and strengthen its spiritual growth through its common ministries of education, worship, pastoral care, and outreach, in response to our Lord's summary of the Law:  "To love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind; and to love your neighbor as yourself."

Youth Ministry at St. Francis in the Fields includes both the ministries by and for the young people of the parish in middle and high school.  While the parish community is called to nurture and strengthen the ministries and community of its youth, so are the youth called to strengthen and nurture the ministries and community of the parish as a whole.
