The Prayer of the Confirmands May 22, 2005 St. Francis in the Fields Harrods Creek, KY Dear God, We love you for giving us life, for helping us to learn your ways and for helping us see the pathway to heaven. We are sorry for our sins, and we ask you to forgive us and fortify us with your love and with the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for spiritual food and for material food. Thank you for the ability to think, reason and make judgments. Thank you for our health. Thank you for our homes and our families. Thank you for our parents, our coaches, our sponsors, our teachers and our friends. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to succeed and for the strength to dare to be great. Lord, as we walk forward with you from our confirmation day, help us grow in relationship with you. Give us wisdom and the ability to make the right decisions. Help us resist peer pressure, and help us continue to serve others. Grant us success in school and in athletics. Help us to appreciate and pray for our friends and all others that we meet on our life journey. Please help us have an active prayer life and help us grow ever closer to you. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
