Tuesday Bible Study is held every Tuesday beginning September 13, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Graves Hall.
Each session consists of a stand-alone lecture by the Rev. Robert T. Jennings covering an assigned reading for the week followed by a small group opportunity for personal reflection and spiritual growth. A workbook is provided to help in preparation for each session and application of the lesson to our daily life. A $20 fee is charged to cover the cost of the workbook and materials.
This year's second semester of study will focus on Ephesians.
All of us have been born. If you are reading these words you are alive. If you are alive you are no doubt breathing. Now here is the question: what is next? In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians he is concerned not with what happens to us after we die but rather what happens to us after we are born and begin to live. Are we living with Christ or are we living on our own? If we decide to go it alone—good luck! If we choose to live with Christ—God bless you! This is the stark reality and ultimate choice Paul puts to the Ephesians and consequently to the church today. During this study we will emphasize the importance of growing in Christ and becoming mature—unlike infants who are tossed back and forth by the waves—we will reflect in Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians on how “to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in our inner being.” (4:16)
If you’ve made a resolution to read the Bible more this year, this is a great way to start. If you’d like to understand the Bible better, this is your chance. If you’re not ready to commit to a full year of Bible Study, why not try this one from January 10 to March 27?
