Graves Hall Adult Education Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
“He is not here. He has risen.” With these words the angels at the tomb proclaimed the good news of the resurrection. Since that day, the resurrection has been the source of astonishment, hope, and Easter joy. Our Sunday morning adult education offerings in April will focus on the evidence that Jesus was indeed raised from the dead and what that reality meant to his earliest disciples.
April 15 … The Women at the Tomb Presenter: The Rev. Deborah Apoldo
Who were the women at the tomb and what did their experience mean for them, for the disciples, and for the Jesus movement?
April 22 … The Shroud of Turin Presenter: William Carrell, II
You’ve heard about the debate over its authenticity. Now hear from someone who has studied all sides of the issue and has come to his own conclusions. Vestry member Bill Carrell has spent countless hours studying the evidence and considering the options. He’ll share his findings in what promises to be a fascinating look at this most talked about relic of the resurrection.
April 29 … The Bones of St. Peter Presenter: The Rev. Robert T. Jennings
Jesus said “on this rock I will build my church” and with that Peter was commissioned to be the first leader of the church. What happened to Peter after the resurrection and how did he die? Fresh off of his pilgrimage to Rome, Robin Jennings will talk about the mysteries, myths, and significance of the relics (the bones) of St. Peter.
