This Appalachian Mission serves the people of Barnes Mountain in Estill County, Kentucky. The people of St. Timothy's have established clothing and food banks, a summer day camp, Girl Scouts and craft activities that meet the needs of their mountain community. Over the past several years, St. Francis has funded several projects including construction of an education center and financial aid support for their summer camping program.
St. Francis hosts an annual craft fair in the Narthex, selling hand made crafts and foods made by members of the St. Francis community and local artist from Barnes Mountain. The fair is held on the third Sunday during the month of November.
Thanksgiving Day is the start of our Advent Food Basket Collection. The Outreach ministries of St. Francis collects food for the Barnes Mountain Community during Advent. Please place your items around the St. Francis statue in the Narthex. Below is a list of suggested food items to purchase. Please be generous and know that your gift will be received with a grateful heart.
