Little Robins is an outreach ministry of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church. A few years ago, we opened our Bible Study childcare program to the public as a means of supporting young families in the community. Our goal was to create a Christ-centered environment where the physical, emotional, social, developmental and spiritual needs of each child could be met.
We have continued to grow each year and feel that our success is a direct result from doing God’s work. Everyone on our Little Robins' staff feels blessed to be able to mold and teach these children about God’s love. In addition, Little Robins is pleased to offer:
* A nurturing and stimulating environment
* Educated and experienced teachers with most being CPR/First Aid qualified
* A Parent’s Day Out Environment
* Low teacher/child ratio so that the individual needs of each child can be met.
* On-going communication between staff and parents
* Parent Board
* Secure facility
* Music n Movement program
* Chapel multiple times a week
* Broad-based curriculum that meets and exceeds Kentucky Standards
6 Weeks to Age 1
Our babies receive a lot of love and attention. We work with the parents to keep them on a schedule that works best for them. Focus for this age group is on gross motor skills (crawling ,walking, grasping objects, etc), language skills (imitates sounds, babbles, says one to two syllable words), and social interaction.
Ratio is 3 babies to 1 teacher.
Ages 1 to 2
You know how active your toddler is and so do we. Our classrooms are designed to help them make huge physical, intellectually and emotional strides. They will improve their fine motor skills with scribbling and making easy crafts. They will improve their gross motor skills with throwing/kicking balls and climbing. They will work on following two-step directions and playing alongside other children.
Ratio is 4 toddler to 1 teacher.
Ages 2 to 3
It’s time for some independence and that’s what our teachers want to foster within them. Your child will begin to make friends and follow simple instructions. Along with plenty of playtime, we will begin learning shapes and colors.
Ratio is 6 children to 1 teacher.
Ages 3 to 4
They are growing up so fast. Our three year olds will start counting, cutting, tracing and writing. They’ll be introduced to the alphabet and have fun exploring science and nature. Playtime will be filled with a lot of pretend and fantasy play.
Ratio is 8 children to 1 teacher.
Our Pre-K class will teach the basic skills needed for Kindergarten. They will learn through play and themed activities. Along with working on letters and sounds, they will be able to participate in group activities, follow directions and problem solving. We will work on good learning habits and positive self-esteem.
Ratio is 10 children to 1 teacher
In addition to the above student:teacher ratio, we always have a floater to assist in the different classrooms when needed.
