There are various instructions to follow based on how many acolytes are present on Sunday mornings. Listed below are responsibilities for only 1 acolyte up to 6 acolytes present. However, please remember acolyting runs much smoother when all acolytes show up. Therefore, please remember to call a sub if you are unable to be present. Thanks!
1) One Person (Crucifer)
1. Light Candles
2. Processional Cross
3. Gospel Procession
Check with Priest if there will be a Gospel Procession, If Yes, just book; If No, remain in pew
4. Offertory / Communion
Distribute plates and serve priest in Communion preparation
5. Collect plates
6. Replenish wine at Communion
7. Assist Priest in clearing altar following Communion
8. Recession
Recess with Processional Cross
9. Replace Cross
10. Extinguish candles
2) Two People (Two Crucifers)
1. Light Candles
2. Please pray together
3. Processional Cross / Pastoral Cross
4. Gospel Procession Cross / Book
5. Offertory / Communion

6. Collect plates
7. Replenish wine and wafers at communion
8. Assist Priest in clearing altar following communion
9. Recession

3) Flag Bearer does not recess, remains in place to extinguish candles
6) Six People (2 Crucifers, 2 Torches, 2 Flags)
1) Similar to Three People
2) Please pray together
3) Flag Bearers remain in place during Recessional then extinguish candles
