As part of a Mission Team there are certain expectations and guidelines that we will ask you to follow. Below is a list of those guidelines.
Focus on Service
As part of the Mission we will be serving others, those in the VBS and those at the David School and in Mexico. We ask that you commit to spending the entire week participating in the work of the Mission. We need consistency when working with children during VBS and we need all the help we can get completing work projects in the community. We want your energy to be concentrated on the Mission experience, not on things going on back home. We ask that you not contact home during the week, but if the need arises and you do need to call home, please do so during free time.
Active Participation
As part of the Mission Team we expect you to attend and participate in all Mission meetings and all Mission fundraisers. We also expect you to participate in VBS, the afternoon work projects and any other work duties associated with the Mission. Without your active participation in all aspects of the Mission we cannot accomplish our goals as a team. When we arrive back to Louisville you will be expected to participate in Mission Sunday where we share with the Body of Christ, St. Francis, what God was able to do with His hands and feet, the mission team.
Relationship with Prayer Partner
This is a very important part of your Mission experience. We want you to choose a Prayer Partner that you are comfortable with and that will actively pray for you and the Mission Team while we are in David or Mexico. We want you to share your experiences of Mission with your Prayer Partner as well.
Diocesan Guidelines
Our Diocesan guidelines are to be followed by both youth and adults while on Mission. The guidelines are: no smoking, drinking, taking illegal drugs or engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior while serving on the Mission. We ask that each youth and adult participating in Mission sign a form that states you will not engage in these behaviors.
