Presenting: Doris Settles (Lexington, KY) – Doris speaks and writes extensively for national,
regional and local organizations on technology. She was the keynote speaker at the 2008 and 2009 National Youth at Risk Conference and also served on the National Association of Attorney’s General 2007 Task Force on Internet Safety.
Description: Finally! ...A presentation that is not designed to scare you but rather inform and equip you to help your teen become a responsible digital citizen. In today’s “always on,” “always connected,” “anytime,” “everywhere” world, our kids are digital natives…unfortunately, parents are digital immigrants. This two hour session will help close the gap by providing parents with some practical tips on raising responsible digital citizens.
Format: $20 fee includes a two hour interactive presentation, followed by Q&A and ending with applied learning using “real life” scenarios that you won’t forget! You will also receive Doris Settles’ newly released book Virtual Parenting. Another book, Understanding i-Kids: A Workbook for Grownups will also be available for purchase. Coffee and light refreshments provided.
Date & Time: Wednesday, January 13, 2010. 6:00–8:00pm.
Location: St. Francis in the Fields, 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Rd., at the corner of Wolf Pen and US 42
