Welcome to Children Ministries
The vision of Children's Ministry is to prepare children for a lifelong commitment of faith in Jesus Christ and to bear fruit in the world; to recognize that children are disciples for Christ in the world; and to inspire and grow their hearts by providing programs and events that will help them to understand who God is, who we are in the world God created and how God can be a part of their lives.
Nursery Care and Preschool Bible activities, staffed by volunteers and paid teachers, are provided for babies through four-year-olds during the morning church services throughout the year.
During the school year, September through May, toddlers through high school-age children meet each Sunday morning at 10 AM with their peers for Church School. We offer a traditional, bible-based curriculum for our Church School program. Details of the Sunday morning Christian Education offerings for Children and adults are published in the weekly service leaflet.
Our weeknight programs include KFC Kids for Christ and Children's Choir on Wednesday nights .
Bible Kids is a Tuesday morning preschool ministry offered to parents enrolled in Tuesday Bible Study.
Each year in June we have an action-packed adventure through the scripture with Vacation Bible School. Our program has grown to include not only our parish children but, our preschool children, our neighbors and friends. We play games, sing, laugh and learn together and when the week has ended we are still smiling and remembering funny stories about our time together. This is definately a week you don't want to miss!
Please contact Cindy Thompson or our Children's Ministry office if you are interested in more information on any of our programs for children and/or parents.
The Ministry of Teaching
Church School Teachers play a vital role in the spiritual lives of children. At St. Francis in the Fields we are blessed with a group of loving, sharing, caring teachers for which we are truly grateful. We are continually developing teachers for our Sunday School and weekday programs. We staff our teaching positions with two or more volunteers for each class to form a teaching team, thereby dividing the planning and leadership for a variety of learning activities. Please feel free to contact Cindy Thompson if you think you may be interested in leading and shepherding a group of children through a year or a season of fellowship and study. Sunday School is a 45-minute class beginning each Sunday morning at 10 AM, September through May. Our seasonal teaching opportunities for Vacation Bible School or Tuesday and Wednesday evening programs are offered in the summer, fall/winter and winter/spring sessions.
