Welcome to St. Francis in the Fields!

What a joy it is to introduce you to St. Francis in the Fields. You will discover that we are a community of faith that lives out our mission to: “love the Lord thy God with all our heart and soul and mind and to love our neighbor as our self.”

We love God with our soul through the centrality of our worship. Here you will find the traditional liturgy of The Book of Common Prayer designed to help us focus on honoring, praising, and glorifying God through excellence in music, thoughtful prayer, and the holy sacraments. Community is formed and shaped, as all who enter, not only experience an immediate sense of sacred space and place but also find a profound awareness of God’s Holy Spirit.

We love God with our heart and such love is made manifest in the extensive ministries found in the work of our Pastoral Care. Throughout the web page you will be encouraged to read about such diverse offerings as our Lay Eucharistic Ministers to our Marriage Mentors and the wide-range of visitation programs.

We love God with our mind and Christian Education becomes for all ages a high priority. A developmental model for discipleship runs throughout our curriculum so that everyone from pre-school through adulthood learns about the saving acts of God that have been made known to us through Jesus Christ. We are committed to helping our people grow as followers of Jesus Christ through these ministries of discipleship. Meaning is found in this emphasis on discipleship and lives are transformed with new purpose and direction.

Our Youth Ministry is legendary because it embodies the mission of St. Francis in the Fields. It is through this mission that many of our young people discover an identity and a new sense of who they are as children of God. They become for us “ambassadors of Christ” and this becomes a source of great joy for all.

We aspire to resist complancency and instead to honor the Lord in our outreach ministries and to invite and welcome people who are seeking into this community through intentional evangelism and assimilation. It is here that we live out our mission to love our neighbor as our self and it is here we discover hope.

If you are seeking a deeper understanding of community, meaning for your life, a Christ-centered identity, and a sure and certain hope we welcome you to the mission and ministry of St. Francis in the Fields!

Faithfully yours,

Robert T. Jennings
